Anthony Powell

As a current Pepperdine Student, I want to utilize my creativity, skills, and experience to contribute to my community and work.

As a performer, I love to express my creativity through performance, music, media, and storytelling.

As an older brother to 3 sisters and a community leader, I lead by example to help foster a community that is firm on morals, respect, communication, and integrity.

Life Timeline

Burbank, California

My roots were planted in Burbank, California. As a triplet born into a big, connected family, I’ve always valued community, quality time, and creativity. My early love for media and entertainment was shaped by my childhood experience as an actor, starting with my televised appearance on Bringing Home Baby (Lifetime). This gave me early, hands-on exposure to both the entertainment world and the business behind it.

Growing Up

In middle school, my family relocated from Los Angeles to Azusa to help plant a church. Being there from day one showed me the power of service, dedication, and leadership. From then on, I’ve always leaned into roles that let me give back and grow with others. In high school, I immersed myself in the arts, becoming a “triplet threat” in theater, band, and show choir. I was also an active member of the National Honor Society, which helped shape my commitment to both academic and personal excellence. These experiences taught me to lead, perform, and support communities that grow through creativity and shared effort.

Expanding Projects

As a Business Administration major and Music Scholarship recipient at Pepperdine, I’ve continued to pursue both passion and purpose. I’ve joined Delta Sigma Pi, the Black Student Association, Latinx Student Association, and the Pepperdine Wind Ensemble, all of which have deepened my sense of identity, collaboration, and professional direction.

Future Goals

With wide-ranging interests in business, media, and service, I’m constantly seeking new opportunities to learn, explore, and contribute. I’ll be studying abroad this summer in Japan, diving into macroeconomics and culture, followed by a full academic year in Buenos Aires, Argentina as a Resident Advisor. I hope these international experiences will expand my worldview and clarify how I can best contribute to the communities and industries I care about.

Whether I pursue a career in business, entertainment, or the nonprofit space, one thing will remain the same: I aim to be a unique, grounded, and reliable presence in any space I enter, someone who brings people together, gets things done, and tells stories that matter.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my digital portfolio! Regardless of your experience, I just want to say thank you for viewing.
